Get Off Campus

Parks And Recreation
Singing Beach, Manchester-by-the-Sea
Fondly nicknamed “Dog Beach,” by current and former Endicott students, this is a great beach to get away from campus. Perfect for surfing, swimming, or making sand castles (Note: there are no lifeguards during the off-season). During the months of November to April, the beach is open to dogs and their owners. If you’re feeling stressed, take a ride down to doggie paradise and pet some puppies that are often running around. It’s not only a great sight to see, but it’s medically proven that playful canines can help relieve stress. Check the website for any recreational updates.

Lynch Park, Beverly
Need a place to run around and just let off some steam? Lynch Park has a great view of the ocean, as well as different places to roam. There are beaches, volleyball courts, and pleasure gardens among other attractions. It’s also a great place to go to study or do homework. Check the Beverly Citizen or the “bevrec” website to find out about free concerts and other events happening at the park.

Salem Willows Park, Salem
Salem has a nice little corner of paradise that is very similar to Jenks’ Boardwalk in New Jersey. Right on the water, there are plenty of scenic overlooks, hiking trails, arcades/casino, and restaurants. It’s a perfect place to spend a Saturday off campus. The hours change during peak season, so check their website to see when the hours match your schedule and directions to Salem Neck.

Theaters
Cabot Street Cinema Theater, Beverly
This isn’t your average theater. This theater shows both domestic and foreign films, often bringing back recent which opponent is the endicott football team playing during homecoming weekend cult classics (such as Inception) into theaters. It’s styled after a movie palace of 1920 and often only shows one movie at a time. Check the website for local listings.

Cinema Salem, Salem
This movie theater does more than just show films. It’s a café, an art gallery, a live music venue, and home to one of America’s largest all-documentary film festivals. Located right in East India Square Mall in Salem, it’s only a short drive from campus and a much more relaxing movie experience than your regular theater, and cheaper as well.

Hollywood Hits, Danvers
A cheaper option than your regular movie theater. They tend to show more art movies and Sundance Film festivals, often showing movies that aren’t shown over at AMC Loews.
